Red Star won in the first derby against Partizan with a score 85 – 100 in front of the black and white crowd and made fifth victory in ABA League, while this was third loss for Miroslav Nikolić’s team. “Aleksandar Nikolić” hall was in black and white colours but there were about 500 Red Star fans also. After two losses in ABA League, Red Star managed to win in Belgrade 112 – 73 against MZT from Skopje in the Round 6 of the regional league. The reigning champions left guests without any chance of scoring a win and showed their full strength in the convincing home win against team from Macedonia. This was, by far, the best performance of Red Star in this ABA League season. The best in the winning team was Nikola Radičević with 17 points and 10 assists, while James Feldeine scored 15. Partizan Nis continued with good games in ABA League, and this time the team won 74 – 90 against Cibona in Zagreb. This was the 4th victory in six rounds for black and whites in regional league, while Cibona has score 3 – 3. New Partizan player Samardo Samuels showed in the first game that he will be one of the leaders in coach Miroslav Nikolić’s team. It was a great night for all Red Star fans because their favourite team scored second victory in Euroleague, this time against Maccabi with a score of 87 – 84, in front of 8.320 spectators in Belgrade Arena. Partizan won in Spain against Bilbao 92 – 96 in the third round of the EuroCup, while their neighbour Red Star lost against Khimki with a score 85 – 78 in the third round of the EuroLeague. Black and whites didn’t start this season that well but they were working hard in every practice trying not to make same mistakes as in start of the season and their hard work is paying off now. They won against experienced team from Spain and now they have first victory in Europe. In the fifth round of ABA League, Partizan won 117 – 104 against Igokea from Aleksandrovac in an amazing game in “Aleksandar Nikolic” Hall that celebrated with their home crowd after the game. Both teams played great in offense and till the end it was an interesting game full of amazing plays, but in the end home team took the victory in their hands. Not long ago, Serbian national team won silver medal at EuroBasket 2017, and now the team has to be ready for new challenge, World Cup qualification tournament.
