After the lost against Lietuvos Rytas in the second round of EuroCup with the score of 91 – 80, Partizan Nis BC will host Igokea from Bosnia and Herzegovina in “Aleksandar Nikolić” Hall, in the fifth round of ABA League.

Both teams have score 2 – 2, and while Partizan won in the last two round, Igokea had one victory and one loss. Club from Aleksandrovac, town in Bosnia and Herzegovina, lost 95 – 93 against Slovenian club Olimpija in the Round 2, won 98 – 94 against Budućnost Voli in and 84 – 79 against Cedevita from Zagreb in the Rounds 2 and 3, and in the fourth round lost against MZT from Skopje with the score 108 – 99.

As from previous scores can be seen, Igokea is playing offensive basketball because in all four rounds team scored more than 80, while in three rounds scores more than 90 points.

Igokea in its roster have players from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, United States of America and Serbia and best scorers in the first four rounds were two Americans Dorell Wright (forward) and Desmond Washington (guard).

Basketball fans of the former Yugoslavia got to know better this Bosnian club only several years ago (2010-2011), when they started competing in the regional league, but Igokea is a club with a long lasting tradition. Its beginnings go back into 23 July 1973, but then the name was Potkozarje and in the second half of 1990’s the club was renamed to Igokea.

One more interesting fact is that Partizan and Igokea are friendly clubs and in the past they were helping each other and were in some kind of the fusion for couple of years, but now both clubs will fight for their chance to win third game in the new season of ABA League.

Before the official season started Partizan and Igokea played to friendly games and score was 1 – 1, but as young black and whites’ player Vanja Marinković said, now it is a different motive in both squads than in preparation period.

“In preparation period we met with Igokea two times and score was 1 – 1, but we both changed roster till then, we brought some new players, so tomorrow’s game will be totally different story. Igokea showed that they are in a good shape and that they can play against any team, so in order to win we will have to play our best basketball”, said Marinković.
