In Belgrade, in front of approximately 5.000 people in the “Aleksandar Nikolic” Arena, Partizan NIS BC lost in the second round against Lietuvos Rytas with a score 80 – 91. It was an equal game during 35 minutes and Partizan was leading during that period but in the last five guests from Lithuania managed to turn the score and win the game. The best scorer was Rokas Giedraitis with 28 points and interesting fact was that he scored 20 points in the first half, and no other player in both teams had double digits then. Serbian basketball club Partizan NIS will host Lietuvos Rytas in second round of the EuroCup in “Aleksandar Nikolić” arena at 8 p.m., today, October 18th. In the first round both teams lost: Partizan as a guest in Berlin against Alba (111 – 85) and team from Vilnius as a host against Spanish club Bilbao Basket with a score 83 – 93. Black and whites, in the first round, committed 23 turnovers against German team, and Nigel Williams-Goss and Patrick Miller had together 12 turnovers. Preventing that will be the first step in order for Serbian team to try to win the game and Partizan also relies on these two American point guards to lead the team against guests from Lithuania. This was an interesting weekend in ABA League, because BC Partizan won 97 – 104 against Zadar, while Red Star lost home game against Montenegrin team Budućnost with a score 75 – 79. After they lost the game in EuroCup against Alba from Berlin, team of Miroslav Nikolić went directly to Zadar to play in the fourth round of regional league and won the game. On Saturday night, in front of 6.000 Zadar’s fans Partizan played an excellent game and returned home with the second victory in the league. The best player for black and whites was Vanja Marinković. After big lost against Alba from Berlin in the opening match of EuroCup, basketball club Partizan went directly to Croatia to play against Zadar in the fourth round of regional league. In ABA League, both Partizan and Zadar have two losses and one victory and both team won in the last round. Partizan won against FMP 87 – 84, while Zadar was better than MZT (80 – 85). Red Star lost in Kaunas against host Zalgiris 78 – 76 in the first round of EuroLeague 2017-2018, but result could be different if Taylor Rochestie didn’t miss a three point shot in the last second of the game. After Milko Bjelica made three points shot in the last 15 seconds till the end, Red Star only had -2, and red and white players managed to steal the ball and had opportunity to make winning or at least to even the score, but Rochestie wasn’t able to score three point shot. Hosts were playing better in the crucial moments of the match and they have home court advantage because 14.000 people came to cheer for their team and to help them win in the opening game of EuroLeague season. Partizan NIS lost 111 – 85 against Alba in Berlin, Germany, in the first round of the EuroCup 2017 – 2018 season. In the first quarter black and whites had advantage 3 – 4, and that was the last time they had any advantage. Partizan BC basketball players will start EuroCup season 2017-2018 in Berlin, Germany, where they will play their first game against Alba on Wednesday at 8 p. m. After played three rounds in regional ABA League, black and whites went to Berlin to play the first game in continental competition. They are competing in group C of EuroCup. Besides Partizan and Alba, members of group C are also Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius, Bilbao Basket, Limoges and Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar.
