After two losses in ABA League, Red Star managed to win in Belgrade 112 – 73 against MZT from Skopje in the Round 6 of the regional league.

The reigning champions left guests without any chance of scoring a win and showed their full strength in the convincing home win against team from Macedonia. This was, by far, the best performance of Red Star in this ABA League season.

The best in the winning team was Nikola Radičević with 17 points and 10 assists, while James Feldeine scored 15. Two players finished the game with 14 points, Dragan Apić and Mathias Lessort, while three players finished with 11 points each, Stefan Janković, Nikola Jovanović and Milko Bjelica.

For MZT, Bojan Trajkovski scored 30 points with 7 rebounds, while the only other players with double digits points was Croatian center Jure Lalić, who finished the match with 14 points.

The next challenge for Dušan Alimpijević’s team will be in EuroLeague, where they will host Brose Bamberg from Germany in Kombank Arena, Belgrade on November 2nd at 6 p.m. in the Round 5.

While Red Star can’t celebrate the victory in ABA League due to upcoming challenge in EuroLeague, their neighbours and greatest rival Partizan Nis will have to face Limoges in France to try to score another victory in EuroCup and continue with winning streak in this season.

Both Partizan and Limoges has two losses and one victory, so in the Round 4 one team will score the second victory in EuroCup, and the other will have to try in some upcoming games to score another victory.

Black and whites and team from France stand both at the bottom of the Group C standings, but while Limoges lost the last game at home against Alba Berlin with a score 65 – 73, team from Belgrade won away game against Bilbao Basket (92 – 96).

In the game between these two teams, Limoges will rely on leader Mam Jaiteh together with Axel Bouteille and Kenny Hayes, while Partizan leaders are MVP of the Round 3 Nigel Williams-Goss, Patrick Miller and Vanja Marinković. Also, Miroslav Nikolić’s team has a new member, center Samardo Samuels, who played an excellent debut game against Cibona in ABA League, but EuroCup is totally different story so everyone will have to wait and see his reaction in this competition.

Interesting fact is that Partizan is one of the best offensive team, while Limoges is one of the weakest but French team has the seventh-best defense in the league while black and whites has the single-weakest.
