In the Round 8 of the EuroCup, València won against Partizan, 61 – 69, in the Group C as a guest in the “Aleksandar Nikolić” Sports Hall (also known as Pionir). Both teams had ups and downs during the game, but, at the end, the experienced ACB team celebrated in a full Pionir. The Black and White squad lost in the first test game before the start of the season against a German team, Oldenburg, after the overtime (OT), with a score of 93 – 95. In the Group C, Russian team completed a perfect Regular Season by beating Partizan NIS with a score 99 – 64. While this was another step for Russian club, team from Belgrade had its last EuroCup game this season, which it finished with 9 losses and 1 victory. The only win Partizan had against Bilbao in the third round and with this score Belgrade team is the last one in Group C. Saša Obradović’s team already advanced to Top 16 phase but with this victory before year 2018 they set the perfect score with no losses. Not long ago, Serbian national team won silver medal at EuroBasket 2017, and now the team has to be ready for new challenge, World Cup qualification tournament. In order to accomplish the goal, and that is booking ticket for China, to participate in World Cup 2019, Serbian head coach Aleksandar Đorđević announced preliminary squad. In Belgrade, in front of approximately 5.000 people in the “Aleksandar Nikolic” Arena, Partizan NIS BC lost in the second round against Lietuvos Rytas with a score 80 – 91. It was an equal game during 35 minutes and Partizan was leading during that period but in the last five guests from Lithuania managed to turn the score and win the game. The best scorer was Rokas Giedraitis with 28 points and interesting fact was that he scored 20 points in the first half, and no other player in both teams had double digits then.
