Yesterday night Red Star won 90 – 82 against Barcelona in the second round of EuroLeague as a home team in “Aleksandar Nikolić” Hall in Belgrade, Serbia. Red and whites were able to celebrate first victory in new season with their fans. Both teams, Barcelona and Red Star have 1 – 1 in EuroLeague. In the first round team from Spain won against Panathinaikos 98 – 71, and Serbian team lost against Zalgiris with a score of 78 – 76. Second round win for home club was a beautiful surprise because this summer Red Star had some changes in the roster and Belgrade club now have a new young coach Dušan Alimpijević, and basketball fans all over Europe knows what the name of Barcelona means in Spanish and European basketball. In Belgrade, in front of approximately 5.000 people in the “Aleksandar Nikolic” Arena, Partizan NIS BC lost in the second round against Lietuvos Rytas with a score 80 – 91. It was an equal game during 35 minutes and Partizan was leading during that period but in the last five guests from Lithuania managed to turn the score and win the game. The best scorer was Rokas Giedraitis with 28 points and interesting fact was that he scored 20 points in the first half, and no other player in both teams had double digits then. Serbian basketball club Partizan NIS will host Lietuvos Rytas in second round of the EuroCup in “Aleksandar Nikolić” arena at 8 p.m., today, October 18th. In the first round both teams lost: Partizan as a guest in Berlin against Alba (111 – 85) and team from Vilnius as a host against Spanish club Bilbao Basket with a score 83 – 93. Black and whites, in the first round, committed 23 turnovers against German team, and Nigel Williams-Goss and Patrick Miller had together 12 turnovers. This was an interesting weekend in ABA League, because BC Partizan won 97 – 104 against Zadar, while Red Star lost home game against Montenegrin team Budućnost with a score 75 – 79. After they lost the game in EuroCup against Alba from Berlin, team of Miroslav Nikolić went directly to Zadar to play in the fourth round of regional league and won the game. On Saturday night, in front of 6.000 Zadar’s fans Partizan played an excellent game and returned home with the second victory in the league. The best player for black and whites was Vanja Marinković. The young guard played his best game till now and scored 33 points with 5 rebounds. He was definitely the man of the match. Partizan in Zadar will try to score second victory in @ABA_League

After big lost against Alba from Berlin in the opening match of EuroCup, basketball club Partizan went directly to Croatia to play against Zadar in the fourth round of regional league. In ABA League, both Partizan and Zadar have two losses and one victory and both team won in the last round. Partizan won against FMP 87 – 84, while Zadar was better than MZT (80 – 85). In the first round Croatian team lost against Budućnost from Podgorica and the final result of that game was 87 – 85, while in the second round another Croatian team Cedevita was better than Zadar. Rochestie missed winning basket, Zalgiris won 78 – 76

Red Star lost in Kaunas against host Zalgiris 78 – 76 in the first round of EuroLeague 2017-2018, but result could be different if Taylor Rochestie didn’t miss a three point shot in the last second of the game. After Milko Bjelica made three points shot in the last 15 seconds till the end, Red Star only had -2, and red and white players managed to steal the ball and had opportunity to make winning or at least to even the score, but Rochestie wasn’t able to score three point shot. Hosts were playing better in the crucial moments of the match and they have home court advantage because 14.000 people came to cheer for their team and to help them win in the opening game of EuroLeague season. The best scorer in Red Star was veteran Pero Antić with 17 points, while Milko Bjelica added 15 and Rochestie 10.

Partizan NIS lost 111 – 85 against Alba in Berlin, Germany, in the first round of the EuroCup 2017 – 2018 season. In the first quarter black and whites had advantage 3 – 4, and that was the last time they had any advantage. Team didn’t play defense at all and in attack they were without any chance and without any solution. Partizan BC basketball players will start EuroCup season 2017-2018 in Berlin, Germany, where they will play their first game against Alba on Wednesday at 8 p. m. After played three rounds in regional ABA League, black and whites went to Berlin to play the first game in continental competition. They are competing in group C of EuroCup. Besides Partizan and Alba, members of group C are also Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius, Bilbao Basket, Limoges and Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar. In front of their own crowd in “Aleksandar Nikolić” sports hall, Partizan BC won 87 – 84 against FMP and scored their first victory in the new season of ABA League. At the very beginning, Partizan was leading and sometimes it was double digits lead, but guests from Železnik, suburb of Belgrade, were always trying to find a way to get back in the game and to surprise host and win the game. In the last minute black and whites scored a 6 points lead and only thing that FMP could do is to reduce the score and finish the game with the score 87 – 84 (28 – 20, 17 – 23, 22 – 17, 20 – 24).
