In the second round BC Partizan NIS is searching for the first victory against Mornar from Bar, Montenegro. The game will start at 5 p. m. and in the evening at 9 p. m. Red Star will host another Serbian team Mega Bemax in Belgrade.
While basketball team Partizan will be in Bar, JSD Partizan will celebrate 72nd birthday because on October 4th sports society was established and now is operating as Yugoslavian Sports Union Partizan. Even though they are playing away game they will have crowds in Bar, because lot of people there are supporting black and whites.
Coach Miroslav Nikolić and Partizan’s captain said that their team needs to be more aggressive, especially in defense in order to win this game. They have to stop Mornar’s centres Uroš Luković and Radoje Vujošević and not let them make any easy baskets.
In the first round Mornar lost against Red Star 88 – 77, but not long ago Partizan and Mornar played against each other. Team from Montenegro won and showed that they have respectful squad who will try to fight in every game in ABA League, no matter who is at the other side.
Hosts from Bar mostly have young talented players, but there are also some experienced players and one of them is Boris Bakić, guard who played both in Partizan (2004-2007) and in Red Star (2007-2011). Also, one of the key players in Mornar is American Brandis Raley-Ross, who scored 21 points agains Red Star in the first round of ABA League.
Focus will be on Uroš Luković (Mornar), because he is going to play against his favourite team in which he spent the previous season. But, as a true professional he will have to leave the emotions aside and to give his best to win a duel against Đoko Šalić (Partizan), who had some good moments in the previous round.
In the second game, Red Star will try to clinch another win in the 2017-2018 ABA League. Once again they will play at home court, which means that Aleksandar Nikolić Sports Hall will be painted in red and white colours.
This time, Belgrade team will face super talented squad Mega Bemax, and their coaching stuff is one of the key factors in this game. Dejan Milojević, very well known in Serbia and Europe as poverful centre during his time, is coaching new generation of kids from Sremska Mitrovica, town in Serbia. They made and flying start in this season when they beat Cibona 95 – 88 and now they will try to score first victory against Red Star in ABA League because, it is worth mentioning that Red Star have won all of their 11 duels in league.
The player in focus will definitely be Mathias Lessort from Red Star who was MVP of the first round and all eyes will be pointed at him, but this time he will have to confront a much experienced guy and a former player of Red Star – Predrag Samardžiski, who is one of the oldest guys in the team from Sremska Mitrovica.
