It was a great night for all Red Star fans because their favourite team scored second victory in Euroleague, this time against Maccabi with a score of 87 – 84, in front of 8.320 spectators in Belgrade Arena. Both victories in EuroLeague for the red and whites came at home court, so Dušan Alimpijević and his lads continue playing strongly as hosts in EuroLeague no matter which court they use – “Aleksandar Nikolić” Hall or Kombank Arena for last night game. Things weren’t looking good in the first half for home team, only in few moments Red Star played good defense and with lot of energy. Europe: First victory for Partizan, second loss for Red Star

Partizan won in Spain against Bilbao 92 – 96 in the third round of the EuroCup, while their neighbour Red Star lost against Khimki with a score 85 – 78 in the third round of the EuroLeague. Black and whites didn’t start this season that well but they were working hard in every practice trying not to make same mistakes as in start of the season and their hard work is paying off now. They won against experienced team from Spain and now they have first victory in Europe. The best players were Novica Veličković and Nigel Williams-Goss who were true leaders during the whole match and they showed younger teammates how to fight for their club. Serbian preliminary squad for the first games of World Cup qualification tournament

Not long ago, Serbian national team won silver medal at EuroBasket 2017, and now the team has to be ready for new challenge, World Cup qualification tournament. In order to accomplish the goal, and that is booking ticket for China, to participate in World Cup 2019, Serbian head coach Aleksandar Đorđević announced preliminary squad. There is no surprise that in this list won’t be players who play in NBA league, Miloš Teodosić, Nikola Jokić, Boban Marjanović, Nemanja Bjelica and Bogdan Bogdanović, but in their absence, coach called some young guys and also players from EuroLeague who played on previous tournament held in Turkey. Home victory for Red Star against Barcelona (@EuroLeague)

Yesterday night Red Star won 90 – 82 against Barcelona in the second round of EuroLeague as a home team in “Aleksandar Nikolić” Hall in Belgrade, Serbia. Red and whites were able to celebrate first victory in new season with their fans. Both teams, Barcelona and Red Star have 1 – 1 in EuroLeague. In the first round team from Spain won against Panathinaikos 98 – 71, and Serbian team lost against Zalgiris with a score of 78 – 76. Second round win for home club was a beautiful surprise because this summer Red Star had some changes in the roster and Belgrade club now have a new young coach Dušan Alimpijević, and basketball fans all over Europe knows what the name of Barcelona means in Spanish and European basketball. Partizan over 100 points, Red Star loss against Budućnost (@ABA_League)

This was an interesting weekend in ABA League, because BC Partizan won 97 – 104 against Zadar, while Red Star lost home game against Montenegrin team Budućnost with a score 75 – 79. After they lost the game in EuroCup against Alba from Berlin, team of Miroslav Nikolić went directly to Zadar to play in the fourth round of regional league and won the game. On Saturday night, in front of 6.000 Zadar’s fans Partizan played an excellent game and returned home with the second victory in the league. The best player for black and whites was Vanja Marinković. The young guard played his best game till now and scored 33 points with 5 rebounds. He was definitely the man of the match. Rochestie missed winning basket, Zalgiris won 78 – 76

Red Star lost in Kaunas against host Zalgiris 78 – 76 in the first round of EuroLeague 2017-2018, but result could be different if Taylor Rochestie didn’t miss a three point shot in the last second of the game. After Milko Bjelica made three points shot in the last 15 seconds till the end, Red Star only had -2, and red and white players managed to steal the ball and had opportunity to make winning or at least to even the score, but Rochestie wasn’t able to score three point shot. Hosts were playing better in the crucial moments of the match and they have home court advantage because 14.000 people came to cheer for their team and to help them win in the opening game of EuroLeague season. The best scorer in Red Star was veteran Pero Antić with 17 points, while Milko Bjelica added 15 and Rochestie 10.

Serbian basketball club Red Star flew to Kaunas for its first match in EuroLeague 2017-2018 season where they will face Lithuanian club Zalgiris today, Friday, October 13th at 7 p. m. In this game will face Lithuanian champion and Serbian and ABA League champion from previous season, but both teams changed a lot in their backcourt over the summer so these are new teams facing each other. First sport in Lithuania is basketball a synonym for basketball is definitely Zalgiris. Club is playing in domestic championship, VTB (regional) league and EuroLeague. In the second round of ABA League 2017-2018 season BC Red Star won 90 – 80 against BC Mega Bemax in Belgrade while BC Partizan lost 83 – 81 against Mornar in Bar. Red Star won a game in which both teams played well mostly because of the individual qualities of several players. The best of them all was Taylor Rochestie, who finished the game with 26 points and 6 assists. He was followed by James Feldeine, who added 21 points while Milko Bjelica and Pero Antić scored 10 points each.
