@EuroCup Top 16 Round 1: Rytas Vilnius is hosting @PartizanBC (Crno-Beli)

In the first round of the Group E in the Top 16 (Second phase) of the EuroCup, Rytas Vilnius is hosting Partizan in Lithuania. These two teams played against each other four times in the past, and the hosts won in all four previous games. The last two matchs were on schedule last year although in the first phase of the EuroCup. In the Round 12 of the ABA League, Partizan lost 71 – 76 against Cedevita from Zagreb in the “Aleksandar Nikolić” Sports Hall. Vesely and Kalinić for the 10th win; Madrid made a comeback against Efes Fenerbahce grabbed their 10th win in the EuroLeague by beating Panathinaikos 69 – 81 in Athens in the Round 11. The Black and White squad lost in the first test game before the start of the season against a German team, Oldenburg, after the overtime (OT), with a score of 93 – 95. In the first quarter, Partizan managed to have double-digits lead fast (25 – 12, +13), but before the 15 minutes break, the guests from Germany were only three points behind (45 – 42, -3). In two totally different halfs, Partizan managed to recuperate after Budućnost 18 points lead and win 94 – 83 in the match of the Round 21 of ABA League. Partizan NIS beat Igokea by 67 – 74 on the road, while they neighbours Crvena Zvezda Mts won on home court with a score of 82 – 66 against Cedevita from Zagreb. Partizan NIS have scored a huge road win against Igokea in the 16th round of 2017-2018 ABA League regular season, and they are still in the race for the top four when the regular season ends, as they are still only a win behind Mornar, that are occupying the fourth spot at the moment. In the Group C, Russian team completed a perfect Regular Season by beating Partizan NIS with a score 99 – 64. While this was another step for Russian club, team from Belgrade had its last EuroCup game this season, which it finished with 9 losses and 1 victory. The only win Partizan had against Bilbao in the third round and with this score Belgrade team is the last one in Group C. Saša Obradović’s team already advanced to Top 16 phase but with this victory before year 2018 they set the perfect score with no losses. Black and Whites were only fighting one quarter, but after that Lokomotiv took a lead and in front of their own crowd won and celebrated another successful year.
