In the ABA League round 18, Partizan won 59 – 83 (+24) against Cibona in the Dražen Petrović Basketball Hall (Košarkaški centar Dražen Petrović or Dvorana Dražen Petrović), in Zagreb. In the ABA League Round 16, Partizan celebrated 92 – 97 (+5) against Zadar (after one overtime) in the Krešimir Ćosić Sports Hall. After 45 minutes, the team from Belgrade («White City«) managed to score an important win for the chance to fight for the Playoffs. The Home team took the lead at the beginning of the match and, in the second part, Partizan managed to turn the game around. In the EuroCup Top 16 third round, Partizan lost 68 – 72 against Monaco (La Roca Team, Les Rouges et Blancs, The Red and Whites) in a full Aleksandar Nikolić Sports Hall (also known as Pionir). In an excellent atmosphere in the “Aleksandar Nikolić” Sports Hall (also known as Pionir) Partizan won 78 – 66 (+12) against Berlin in the second round of the EuroCup Top 16. This is the first win for Trinchieri’s squad and the first loss for the German team in the Top 16, because the Serbian team lost 80 – 74 (-6) in the first round against Rytas Vilnius and Berlin was better than Monaco 83 – 74 (+9). After two rounds the situation in the group E is difficult because all the teams have one victory and one defeat (in the other game of the group, Monaco won against Rytas 75 – 70). In the first round of the Group E in the Top 16 (Second phase) of the EuroCup, Rytas Vilnius is hosting Partizan in Lithuania. Not long ago, Serbian national team won silver medal at EuroBasket 2017, and now the team has to be ready for new challenge, World Cup qualification tournament. In order to accomplish the goal, and that is booking ticket for China, to participate in World Cup 2019, Serbian head coach Aleksandar Đorđević announced preliminary squad. There is no surprise that in this list won’t be players who play in NBA league, Miloš Teodosić, Nikola Jokić, Boban Marjanović, Nemanja Bjelica and Bogdan Bogdanović, but in their absence, coach called some young guys and also players from EuroLeague who played on previous tournament held in Turkey.
