September Window: Đorđević unveils 16 players roster (@FIBA, Bjelica, Bogdanović)

The Head coach of the Serbian national team, Aleksandar Đorđević, announced the national selection that will compete in the September window of the European Qualifiers 2017-2019 games for the FIBA Basketball World Cup China 2019. Despite the fact that Boban Marjanović (Center, C), Miloš Teodosić (Point guard – Shooting guard, PG – SG) and Nikola Jokić (C) won’t play for the national team, the Serbian squad is ready for the new challenges. The First two mentioned players won’t play due the decision of their club, Los Angeles Clippers, and Jokić decided not to play due to unknown reasons. After two games between Crvena Zvezda and Mornar and Budućnost and Cedevita the result is tie. The teams who will fight in the final of the ABA League are still unknown. In the first game Red and Whites won 91 – 63 in front of their own crowd and they were all hoping that they will finish the series against Mornar in the second game. Everything is ready for the beginning of the @ABA_League semi-finals that start tonight in Belgrade and Podgorica. After the regular season, four teams are now ready to start the Playoffs and the battle for the trophy and the spot in the next season @EuroLeague. Those four teams are Crvena Zvezda from Belgrade, Budućnost from Podgorica, Cedevita from Zagreb and Mornar from Bar. In the semi-finals Red and Whites are playing against Mornar, and Budućnost against Cedevita. The teams from Belgrade and from Podgorica have home court advantage against their opponents. Partizan NIS went to Zagreb where they will say goodbye to this season of the ABA League in the match against Cedevita, because the team from Belgrade won’t participate in the Playoffs. The four teams that will continue competing in the regional league are Black and Whites final opponent (Cedevita), Crvena Zvezda (that finished the regular season as the best team) and two teams from Montenegro: Budućnost and Mornar. For Partizan, the match against Cedevita is the last game in the league in the season 2017-2018. On the other hand, the team from Zagreb will continue their fight and if they win against Black and Whites they will have a chance to finish the regular season as the second best team and to have the home advantage against their opponent in the Playoffs (Budućnost). Partizan NIS is hosting Budućnost Voli in the Round 21 of ABA League after two weeks break due to domestic cups and national team games. Black and Whites won “Radivoje Korać” Cup by beating Crvena Zvezda in the final, while Budućnost won against Mornar in the final of the Montenegrin Cup. Now, the teams are back in ABA League and in the game against Nenad Čanak’s and the squad of Aleksandar Džikić, and both teams are ready for a new challenge: Partizan to stay at the fifth place and team from Podgorica to stay the first in the league before the Playoffs. Even though Black and Whites lost their chance to book a ticket for the Playoffs of the regional league, the team from Belgrade is always motivated in games against powerhouses of the league. Powerful Start for Red Star, Mornar defeated (88 – 77, @ABA_League)

In the first round of ABA League, Red Star, as a host, defeated BC Mornar (from Bar) with a score of 88 – 77 in Pionir, in Belgrade. It was 47 – 30 after first half. Red Star started a new season with a new young coach Dušan Alimpijević and a new team that in the first quarter of the game showed who will be the winner. Newcomers, Frenchman Mathias Lessort, who came from Nanterre, finished the game with 22 points and Taylor Rochestie, who had 17 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assists and one steal were the players of the game.
