The Serbian basketball team is playing against Greece in Belgrade and before that match, the head coach Aleksandar Đorđević made a comment about the game against Israel. Serbia lost in Tel Aviv with a score of 83 – 74. “We reacted very well after defeat against Israel. We know where we made mistakes and, also, why. We analysed some things, talk about them, the way we always do and after yesterday recovering practice, today we are on the court again to get ready for Greece. We need to forget the match against Israel ASAP. We learned something from that game and now we need to focus on Greece. They won’t feel any pressure. Players from their national league are here full of self-confidence and with a desire to prove themselves. They made an excellent result, they will be participants at World Cup. So without pressure they will give their maximum.

In the first game of the November FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 European Qualifiers Window, Israel won 83 – 74 against Serbia in Tel Aviv and ruined the first chance for Aleksandar Đorđević’s squad to book a ticket for China. After the defeat in Israel, Serbia will take the harder road in order to go to the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 and try to defend the silver medal from Spain they won in 2014. During the whole match the national team of Serbia was searching for its own game, and both teams were leading during the match. At the practice before the trip to Israel, the Serbian coach, Aleksandar Đođrević, announced that Rade Zagorac, Stefan Pot, Aleksa Radanov and Dejan Kravić won’t be travelling to Tel Aviv to play against Israel in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 European Qualifiers. In the November qualification window, the Serbian team will play two games. The First one against Israel, in Tel Aviv, and the second one against Greece, in Belgrade. For the match against Greece, Đorđević’s squad will be stronger, for three EuroLeague players: Vasilije Micić (Efes), Vladimir Lučić and Stefan Jović (both from Munich), but in Israel they won’t be able to help their teammates. In this season first Belgrade derby, Crvena Zvezda won 71 – 77 against Partizan in an “away” game of the ABA league. The Crowd in the “Aleksandr Nikolic” Sports Hall was able to see two different halfs. The first one belonged to Partizan, and the second one, to Red and Whites (Crvena Zvezda, Crveno-beli). The Home team only played 20 minutes on a competitive level, and that wasn’t enough to win against the best team in the regional league. The Serbian head coach, Aleksandar Đođrđević, announced the 16 players who will prepare for the next qualifying window for the FIBA World Cup 2019 in China. As it was predicted, there are no players from the EuroLeague. After the last qualifying window, during September, the players from Munich (Stefan Jović, Vladimir Lučić and Nemanja Dangubić) were hoping that their team will let them play against Israel on November 30th 2018. His team will play the day before against Maccabi in EuroLeague and they were hoping to stay with the Serbian squad in Tel Aviv for one more day.
