@EuroCup Top 16: Berlin without Peyton Siva in Belgrade (@PartizanBC, Pionir)

In the EuroCup Top 16 second round, Partizan is hosting Berlin in the Group E, in the “Aleksandar Nikolić” Sports Hall (also known as Pionir). The German squad came to Belgrade (White City) without their top performer, Peyton Siva, who is still recovering. He was injured in the end of October last year when his team played against Ludwigsburg in the German BBL. The American point guard had to deal with a fractured rib, he recovered, return and, now, is out again. In the first round the home team lost its away game against Rytas Vilnius (80 – 74 was the final score), while Berlin won 83 – 74 against AS Monaco. In the last round of 2018, Round 13, of the ABA League, KK Olimpija, from Ljubljana (Zmaji -The Dragons-, Zeleno-beli -The Green and Whites-), is hosting Partizan in the “Stožice” Arena. Till the upcoming game between the Slovenian and the Serbian teams, Olimpija has 4 wins and 8 losses, while the Black and Whites (Crno-Beli) have 6 victories and the same number of defeats. The National team of Serbia won 84 – 61 against Greece in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 European Qualifiers in the “Aleksandar Nikolić” Sports Hall (also known as Pionir), in Belgrade. It was the first defeat for Hellas in these Qualifiers. Before the game, Greece had already Qualified for China due to its 9 Victories. On the other side, if Serbia wants to participate at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019, Đorđević’s squad needs to win one of the two remaining games in these Qualifiers: against Estonia or Israel. In this season first Belgrade derby, Crvena Zvezda won 71 – 77 against Partizan in an “away” game of the ABA league. The Crowd in the “Aleksandr Nikolic” Sports Hall was able to see two different halfs. The first one belonged to Partizan, and the second one, to Red and Whites (Crvena Zvezda, Crveno-beli). The Home team only played 20 minutes on a competitive level, and that wasn’t enough to win against the best team in the regional league. The opening game of the Round 9 in the ABA League is the eternal derby between Partizan (the Black and Whites, Crno-Beli) and Crvena Zvezda (the Red and Whites, Crveno-beli) in the “Aleksandar Nikolić” Sports Hall (aka Pionir).
