The “Super liga” started and even though the teams from ABA League (Crvena Zvezda, Partizan, Mega Bemax and FMP) are also the next year regional league’s participants and the other eight clubs (Borac, Tamiš, Metalac, Vršac, Zlatibor, Dynamik, Vojvodina and Mladost) will fight for the spots in ABA 2 League, noone is going to give up the last trophy in this season easily.
There are two groups in the league, and in the group A are Zlatibor, Borac, Tamiš, Zvezda, Mega Bemax and Mladost, while in the group B are Partizan Mts, FMP, Dynamik, Vršac, Metalac and Vojvodina.
Maybe there are no spots for clubs from Serbian League in the first regional league but the teams are always motivated to win against those clubs that are playing (and will also play next year) in ABA League.
So, Tamiš in the first round had their chance to win against Mega, but Dejan Milojević’s team use their advantage and in the end celebrated. But it wasn’t any easy win. The final result was 86 – 77.
The best player in Mega Bemax was Aleksandar Lazić with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists, while Goga Bitadze added 16 points and Nikola Mišković 15. Also, Luka Cerovina scored 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists.
Three players scored more than 10 points for Tamiš: Ivan Smiljanić (19), Dušan Knežević (17) and Stefan Savić (11), but that wasn’t enough for their team to surprise their opponent and steal a victory.
Borac and the Red and Whites had excellent starts: both teams scored more than 100 points against their opponents. The team from Čačak won 109 – 80 against Zlatibor, while Zvezda celebrated against Mladost with a score of 115 – 64.
This year ABA 2 League semi-finalist Borac is eager to play next year in the 2nd regional league so the first step was successful, but there is a lot of more games to be played.
The best scorer was Darko Balaban with 19 points, Nikola Pešaković added 15 while Miloš Dimić and Nemanja Todorović finished the game with 14 points each one. There was one more player with double-digits score in Borac: the newcomer Dušan Kutlešić (who added 12 points and showed the crowd in Čačak that they can count on his points).
For BC Zlatibor, Dragoslav Papić was the best with 17 points, while Milan Vulić scored one point less, but their teammates weren’t motivated so they will try to score a victory in the upcoming rounds.
Another team had more than 100 points, and maybe this can help Zvezda to gain confidence after they lost the trophy in ABA League and, for now, also a spot in the EuroLeague next season.
Two new players came to the Red and Whites and two players left. Newcomers are Filip Čović, who had already played in Zvezda in the 2011-2012 season, and Aleksa Radanov. Both of them played for FMP during this season. Players who left Dušan Alimpijević’s team are Milko Bjelica and Dylan Ennis due to bad games against Budućnost in the Finals, but both players signed for Zaragoza and will play in the ACB League. This change was, maybe, good for both, the team and the players that left.
The Red and Whites were unstoppable against Mladost and the best scorer was Stefan Janković who finished the game with 22 points, and the second best scorer was Filip Čović with 16, while three players scored 15 points each: Ognjen Dobrić, Marko Kešelj and Dejan Davidovac.
In Mladost, three players had double-digits score: Bratislav Jeković (18), Dejan Bjelić (11) and Veljko Brkić (11).
The other teams will play tonight: Partizan will face Vojvodina, Dynamik will face Vršac and FMP will play against Metalac.
