It was a busy night for the EuroLeague clubs. On the first night of the Round 12, Olympiacos won 88 – 81 against Efes; CSKA, 88 – 74 against Khimki; Fenerbahce, 92 – 85 against Milan; Baskonia, 79 – 81 against Maccabi; and, in the ACB Eternal Derby, Madrid won 92 – 65 against Barcelona.

The night belonged to the home teams. In the five matches that were played, four hosts celebrated, only Baskonia won as an away squad, in Tel Aviv.

The Game of the night was played in Madrid against a well-known opponent, and, in that match, Pablo Laso’s team celebrated and Svetislav Pešić’s team have to returned home with a 6th defeat (same number of victories in the EuroLeague) after 12 rounds. Madrid has 10 wins and 2 losses.

Trey Thompkins was the MVP of the game with 20 index rating (17 points and 7 rebounds), while Anthony Randolph scored one point less. Jaycee Carroll finished the game with 15 points and Walter Tavares added 12 (both of them, 18 index rating).

Only two players in Barcelona finished the Derby with 10 or more points: its MVP (14 index rating), the French Thomas Heurtel (scored 16), and Kevin Pangos, 11. But they were without any help of their teammates.

Only the third quarter (16 – 20, -4) looked like an equal fight between the two opponents, but in the first half the home squad scored 53 points while guests were stopped at 30 (+23). In the second quarter the result was 31 – 13 (+18).

At the other part of Europe, in Istanbul, Marko Gudurić leaded his Fenerbahce to their 11th victory. This time, Milan was at the opposite side. The Result was 92 – 85.

The Serbian Small forwardShooting guard (MVP of the 5 games of the night, index rating 25) scored 20 points with 3 assists. Besides Gudurić, three other players scored 10 or more points. The CenterPower forward Joffrey Lauvergne (Inside MVP, 21 index rating) added 15 points (7 of 7 for 2 pointers), while Jan Vesely (index rating 17) scored 17 and Luigi Datome (10 index rating) ended the match with 10 points. One of the best players on the court was Kostas Sloukas (19 index rating). The Greek Point guard – Shooting guard finished the match with 9 points and 7 assists. Also, Nikola Kalinić (also 10 index rating, same as Datome, although lower «PER 40 MIN.» than Datome) helped his team to celebrate. The Serbian player finished the match with 8 points.

Mike James was, by far, the best player on the court (index rating 30), but his team didn’t won. The Milan player scored 31 points with 6 assists and 4 rebounds. His only two teammates with double-digit score finished the game with 13 points each one of them: Arturas Gudaitis and Mindaugas Kuzminskas.

In the Olympiacos victory over Efes, 8 players from the Greek squad scored points and 6 of them had 10 or more. The MVP of the game (index rating 24) was the Serbian center Nikola Milutinov with 15 points and 9 rebounds, while the top scorer was Axel Toupane (index rating 16) with 19 points. Four players from The Red-Whites (Erythrolefki) scored 10 points each one of them: the captain Vassilis Spanoulis, Zach Leday, Janis Strelnieks and Georgios Printezis (sorted by Points per Minute).

For Efes, Vasilije Micić (index rating 22) scored 24 points. The Serbian Point guard had also 6 assists but 5 turnovers. Adrien Moerman (also index rating 22, better «PER 40 MIN.«, MVP of Efes in that game) finished the match with 9 points and 8 rebounds. Besides Micić, only one more player from the Turkish squad had double-digit score: Shane Larkin (18 index rating) who added 20 points.
