Partizan won 83 – 77, as a host, against FMP, in the city derby, in the 11th round of the ABA League (17 – 22, 26 – 20, 25 – 20, 15 – 15). This was the third win in a row for the Black and Whites (Crno-Beli) in the regional league and in the EuroCup, while the team from Železnik had their 7th loss in the ABA League. The National team of Serbia won 84 – 61 against Greece in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 European Qualifiers in the “Aleksandar Nikolić” Sports Hall (also known as Pionir), in Belgrade. It was the first defeat for Hellas in these Qualifiers. Before the game, Greece had already Qualified for China due to its 9 Victories. On the other side, if Serbia wants to participate at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019, Đorđević’s squad needs to win one of the two remaining games in these Qualifiers: against Estonia or Israel. The Serbian basketball team is playing against Greece in Belgrade and before that match, the head coach Aleksandar Đorđević made a comment about the game against Israel. Serbia lost in Tel Aviv with a score of 83 – 74. “We reacted very well after defeat against Israel. We know where we made mistakes and, also, why. We analysed some things, talk about them, the way we always do and after yesterday recovering practice, today we are on the court again to get ready for Greece. We need to forget the match against Israel ASAP. We learned something from that game and now we need to focus on Greece. They won’t feel any pressure. Players from their national league are here full of self-confidence and with a desire to prove themselves. They made an excellent result, they will be participants at World Cup. So without pressure they will give their maximum.

In the first game of the November FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 European Qualifiers Window, Israel won 83 – 74 against Serbia in Tel Aviv and ruined the first chance for Aleksandar Đorđević’s squad to book a ticket for China. After the defeat in Israel, Serbia will take the harder road in order to go to the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 and try to defend the silver medal from Spain they won in 2014. During the whole match the national team of Serbia was searching for its own game, and both teams were leading during the match. At the practice before the trip to Israel, the Serbian coach, Aleksandar Đođrević, announced that Rade Zagorac, Stefan Pot, Aleksa Radanov and Dejan Kravić won’t be travelling to Tel Aviv to play against Israel in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 European Qualifiers. In the November qualification window, the Serbian team will play two games. The First one against Israel, in Tel Aviv, and the second one against Greece, in Belgrade. The Serbian head coach, Aleksandar Đođrđević, announced the 16 players who will prepare for the next qualifying window for the FIBA World Cup 2019 in China. As it was predicted, there are no players from the EuroLeague. After the last qualifying window, during September, the players from Munich (Stefan Jović, Vladimir Lučić and Nemanja Dangubić) were hoping that their team will let them play against Israel on November 30th 2018. His team will play the day before against Maccabi in EuroLeague and they were hoping to stay with the Serbian squad in Tel Aviv for one more day. The head coach of the Serbian national team, Aleksandar Đorđević, announced the preliminary squad for the fourth qualification window for the World Cup 2019 in China and 24 names are on the list. The Serbian men team will play against Greece (September 13th) and Estonia (September 16th) in this window. The match against Greece will be played in Iraklion (Crete) and the one against Estonia, in Belgrade. Serbia won 81 – 82 against Austria in a dramatic game of the second window of the qualification tournament for World Cup 2019 in China. Hero of the victory was Aleksa Avramović, who made three points shot 19 seconds before the end of the game. It wasn’t an easy win for Serbia, but Aleksandar Đorđević’s team scored third victory after four games, and stayed at second place in the group G, behind Germany. The team has two more games in this round, both during the summer. First will be against Georgia in Tbilisi and second in Belgrade against the leader of the group, the German team. Even though it wasn’t an easy win, but win is a win, so now the Serbian squad can prepare for the upcoming games.
