After two losses in ABA League, Red Star managed to win in Belgrade 112 – 73 against MZT from Skopje in the Round 6 of the regional league. The reigning champions left guests without any chance of scoring a win and showed their full strength in the convincing home win against team from Macedonia. This was, by far, the best performance of Red Star in this ABA League season. The best in the winning team was Nikola Radičević with 17 points and 10 assists, while James Feldeine scored 15. Two players finished the game with 14 points, Dragan Apić and Mathias Lessort, while three players finished with 11 points each, Stefan Janković, Nikola Jovanović and Milko Bjelica. In the fifth round of ABA League, Partizan won 117 – 104 against Igokea from Aleksandrovac in an amazing game in “Aleksandar Nikolic” Hall that celebrated with their home crowd after the game. Both teams played great in offense and till the end it was an interesting game full of amazing plays, but in the end home team took the victory in their hands. The best scorer was Nigel Williams-Goss with 30 points with 8 assists while Patrick Miller added 23 points and 11 assists. More than 10 points scored also Djoko Salic (16 points), Mihajlo Andric (15) and Vanja Marinkovic (14). In front of their own crowd in “Aleksandar Nikolić” sports hall, Partizan BC won 87 – 84 against FMP and scored their first victory in the new season of ABA League. At the very beginning, Partizan was leading and sometimes it was double digits lead, but guests from Železnik, suburb of Belgrade, were always trying to find a way to get back in the game and to surprise host and win the game. In the last minute black and whites scored a 6 points lead and only thing that FMP could do is to reduce the score and finish the game with the score 87 – 84 (28 – 20, 17 – 23, 22 – 17, 20 – 24). In the third round of ABA League 2017-2018 Partizan NIS will play first time in front of the home crowd and the team will host FMP from Železnik, Belgrade suburb. The game starts at 7 p. m. in “Aleksandar Nikolić” basketball hall, also known as Pionir. While balck and whites lost both games as a guest in the first two rounds of the new season (first against MZT Aerodrom from Skoplje, Macedonia and second against Mornar from Bar, Montenegro), FMP Železnik lost first game against Cedevita from Zagreb in Croatia (76 – 67) and won in the second game against MZT (100 – 72). In the second round of ABA League 2017-2018 season BC Red Star won 90 – 80 against BC Mega Bemax in Belgrade while BC Partizan lost 83 – 81 against Mornar in Bar. Red Star won a game in which both teams played well mostly because of the individual qualities of several players. The best of them all was Taylor Rochestie, who finished the game with 26 points and 6 assists. In the second round BC Partizan NIS is searching for the first victory against Mornar from Bar, Montenegro. The game will start at 5 p. m. and in the evening at 9 p. m. Red Star will host another Serbian team Mega Bemax in Belgrade. While basketball team Partizan will be in Bar, JSD Partizan will celebrate 72nd birthday because on October 4th sports society was established and now is operating as Yugoslavian Sports Union Partizan. Even though they are playing away game they will have crowds in Bar, because lot of people there are supporting black and whites. In the first round of ABA League, Red Star, as a host, defeated BC Mornar (from Bar) with a score of 88 – 77 in Pionir, in Belgrade. It was 47 – 30 after first half. Red Star started a new season with a new young coach Dušan Alimpijević and a new team that in the first quarter of the game showed who will be the winner. Newcomers, Frenchman Mathias Lessort, who came from Nanterre, finished the game with 22 points and Taylor Rochestie, who had 17 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assists and one steal were the players of the game. In the first round of ABA League 2017-2018 BC Partizan lost as a visitor in Macedonia against BC MZT Skopje Aerodrom 92 – 89 (26 – 25, 16 – 23, 21 – 19 and 29 – 22). Black and white captain Novica Veličković played an excellent game even he couldn’t help his team to score a victory. In some parts of the game, Partizan played well and they also have double-digits advantage but the team gambled away that advantage and now are coming to Belgrade defeated. Damjan Stojanovski scored 25 points for hosts but the one that scored most important points was Bojan Trajkovski, who always hits for three when his team needed him to do it. BC Partizan NIS will play first game in new ABA League season against BC MZT Skopje Aerodrom today, Friday, September 29th at 8 p.m. in S.C. Jane Sandanski in Skopje. Until now club from Belgrade have 7 victories and 3 losses against Skopje, but in capital of Macedonia they won 2 games and lost 3. Tomorrow, Miroslav Nikolić’s team will have a chance to win third game as a visitor and first in the new season. It’s the start of the season, and everyone are excited to see how their teams will play in ABA League, but fans in Skopje are super excited because their team will host Partizan in the opening game of 2017-2018 season.
