@EuroCup: Partizan NIS starts in Berlin

Partizan BC basketball players will start EuroCup season 2017-2018 in Berlin, Germany, where they will play their first game against Alba on Wednesday at 8 p. m. After played three rounds in regional ABA League, black and whites went to Berlin to play the first game in continental competition. They are competing in group C of EuroCup. Besides Partizan and Alba, members of group C are also Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius, Bilbao Basket, Limoges and Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar. Before this season game, Alba and Partizan only met twice in European competitions. While German team will play with core of the team from the last season, but also with some new faces, Partizan continues with their philosophy of growing local talents. Third time’s a charm: Partizan NIS scored first victory (@ABA_League 2017-2018)

In front of their own crowd in “Aleksandar Nikolić” sports hall, Partizan BC won 87 – 84 against FMP and scored their first victory in the new season of ABA League. At the very beginning, Partizan was leading and sometimes it was double digits lead, but guests from Železnik, suburb of Belgrade, were always trying to find a way to get back in the game and to surprise host and win the game. In the last minute black and whites scored a 6 points lead and only thing that FMP could do is to reduce the score and finish the game with the score 87 – 84 (28 – 20, 17 – 23, 22 – 17, 20 – 24). The best scorer in Partizan was Patrick Miller with 20 points, Vanja Marinković added 15, Nigel Williams-Goss 13 (9 assists) and Marko Čakarević finished the match with 12 points, 8 rebounds,

In the third round of ABA League 2017-2018 Partizan NIS will play first time in front of the home crowd and the team will host FMP from Železnik, Belgrade suburb. The game starts at 7 p. m. in “Aleksandar Nikolić” basketball hall, also known as Pionir. While balck and whites lost both games as a guest in the first two rounds of the new season (first against MZT Aerodrom from Skoplje, Macedonia and second against Mornar from Bar, Montenegro), FMP Železnik lost first game against Cedevita from Zagreb in Croatia (76 – 67) and won in the second game against MZT (100 – 72). In the second round of ABA League 2017-2018 season BC Red Star won 90 – 80 against BC Mega Bemax in Belgrade while BC Partizan lost 83 – 81 against Mornar in Bar. Red Star won a game in which both teams played well mostly because of the individual qualities of several players. The best of them all was Taylor Rochestie, who finished the game with 26 points and 6 assists. In the first round of ABA League 2017-2018 BC Partizan lost as a visitor in Macedonia against BC MZT Skopje Aerodrom 92 – 89 (26 – 25, 16 – 23, 21 – 19 and 29 – 22). Black and white captain Novica Veličković played an excellent game even he couldn’t help his team to score a victory. In some parts of the game, Partizan played well and they also have double-digits advantage but the team gambled away that advantage and now are coming to Belgrade defeated.
