In the last round of 2018, Round 13, of the ABA League, KK Olimpija, from Ljubljana (Zmaji -The Dragons-, Zeleno-beli -The Green and Whites-), is hosting Partizan in the “Stožice” Arena.

Till the upcoming game between the Slovenian and the Serbian teams, Olimpija has 4 wins and 8 losses, while the Black and Whites (Crno-Beli) have 6 victories and the same number of defeats. The Team from Ljubljana is now at the 9th place and the squad from Belgrade is at the 6th.

Currently, both teams are in the similar situation looking at the five last games they played in the regional league. Olimpija and Partizan won in 2 of their last five matches, and lost in the last ones: Mornar was better than the Slovenian team in Bar (80 – 75, -5), while Cedevita celebrated against Partizan in the “Aleksandar Nikolić” Sports Hall, with a score of 71 – 76 (-5, also).

In the first match between these two squads, in Belgrade, in the second round, Partizan celebrated with a score of 82 – 79 (+3). But now, the situation is different because the match will be played in Stožice and it is worth mentioning that the team from Serbia didn’t win in Ljubljana for about five years.

The hosts want to escape from the dangerous zone, because they are at the bottom of the league with 3 more squads who also won 4 games so far, while the Black and Whites are eager to fight for the Playoffs while they still have a chance for it.

The Matchup between Mirza Begić and Jock Landale will be in the focus as both players were playing excellent lately and now it is only a question of who will prevail this time, the Australian or the Slovenian center.

Before this game, the team from Belgrade signed Alex Renfroe, playmaker who came from Bàsquet Manresa from the ACB League. Even though, the American-born player (naturalized Bosnian-Herzegovinian) already signed the contract with the Black and Whites, he will, for the first time, wear Partizan’s colours in 2019. Probably his first game will be in the EuroCup against Rytas Vilnius on 2nd January.

In the first 13 games of the season, Renfroe scored 14.1 points per match with 6 assists per game in the ACB league (18.5 Index Rating, ACB Backcourt MVP at the moment).
