@PartizanBC hosting Berlin in the Round 6 of @EuroCup
In “Aleksandar Nikolić” Hall Partizan NIS will host today, Tuesday, German team Berlin in the 6th round of EuroCup.
This will be the second duel between these two teams and in the first one, played in Berlin, Berlin won 111 – 85, mostly thanks to Spencer Butterfield’s 24 points. But now, it is another game because it will be played in Belgrade in front of black and whites fans and Partizan is eager to try to score second win in EuroCup and stop Berlin’s winning streak.
In this match, focus will be on the three best players from Berlin and the three best home team players. For Berlin, main guy is Peyton Siva with huge help from Butterfield and Luke Sikma, while trio from Partizan, Nigel Williams-Goss, Patrick Miller and Vanja Marinković, will try (with the guys from their team) to defend their territory.
It is well-known that Miroslav Nikolić’s team doesn’t play defense very well, so they have the weakest defence in the competition, but visitors aren’t much better in that aspect either. While Partizan allows 95.8 points per game, Berlin allows 16 points less per game.
If Partizan wants to book the spot in Top 16, all players in the squad will have to be focused in all remaining games and against Berlin is the first in the raw. It is the beginning of the second half of the season and every team in Group C played against everyone, so now Belgrade team is running out of options and has to play better in defense, but the crowd will be the sixth player in the match against team from Berlin.
On the other side, Berlin seems to have found its rhythm and will try not to be contained by the atmosphere, even though it is a hot court. The players are hoping to continue to play their game and all of them are eager to score another victory in EuroCup.
