In the last FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 European Qualifiers window, Serbia will face Estonia in Tallinn and Israel in Belgrade. The Serbian squad needs only one win (or, maybe, noone) in order to become one of the participants in the World Cup 2019 that will take place in China, and the first match point will be against Estonia. Aleksandar Đorđević decided which 12 players will play in the first game and one of them is Miloš Teodosić, who recently (on February 7, 2019, just 14 days ago) was waived by the Clippers. Besides Miloš, the other 11 players who will play in Estonia are: Ilija Đoković (Borac Čačak), Milenko Tepić (PAOK), Dragan Milosavljević (Málaga), Aleksa Avramović (Varese), Ivan Paunić (free agent), Marko Simonović (Zenit), Stefan Birčević (Bonn), Stevan Jelovac (Bamberg), Miroslav Raduljica (Jiangsu Dragons), Nikola Jovanović (Trento) and Đorđe Gagić (Partizan). The National team of Serbia won 84 – 61 against Greece in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 European Qualifiers in the “Aleksandar Nikolić” Sports Hall (also known as Pionir), in Belgrade. It was the first defeat for Hellas in these Qualifiers. Before the game, Greece had already Qualified for China due to its 9 Victories. On the other side, if Serbia wants to participate at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019, Đorđević’s squad needs to win one of the two remaining games in these Qualifiers: against Estonia or Israel. The Serbian basketball team is playing against Greece in Belgrade and before that match, the head coach Aleksandar Đorđević made a comment about the game against Israel. Serbia lost in Tel Aviv with a score of 83 – 74. “We reacted very well after defeat against Israel. We know where we made mistakes and, also, why. We analysed some things, talk about them, the way we always do and after yesterday recovering practice, today we are on the court again to get ready for Greece. We need to forget the match against Israel ASAP. We learned something from that game and now we need to focus on Greece. They won’t feel any pressure. Players from their national league are here full of self-confidence and with a desire to prove themselves. They made an excellent result, they will be participants at World Cup. In the first game of the November FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 European Qualifiers Window, Israel won 83 – 74 against Serbia in Tel Aviv and ruined the first chance for Aleksandar Đorđević’s squad to book a ticket for China. After the defeat in Israel, Serbia will take the harder road in order to go to the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 and try to defend the silver medal from Spain they won in 2014. At the practice before the trip to Israel, the Serbian coach, Aleksandar Đođrević, announced that Rade Zagorac, Stefan Pot, Aleksa Radanov and Dejan Kravić won’t be travelling to Tel Aviv to play against Israel in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 European Qualifiers. In the November qualification window, the Serbian team will play two games. The First one against Israel, in Tel Aviv, and the second one against Greece, in Belgrade. The Serbian head coach, Aleksandar Đođrđević, announced the 16 players who will prepare for the next qualifying window for the FIBA World Cup 2019 in China. As it was predicted, there are no players from the EuroLeague. After the last qualifying window, during September, the players from Munich (Stefan Jović, Vladimir Lučić and Nemanja Dangubić) were hoping that their team will let them play against Israel on November 30th 2018. His team will play the day before against Maccabi in EuroLeague and they were hoping to stay with the Serbian squad in Tel Aviv for one more day.
