The first night of the Round 5 in the EuroLeague was Ante Tomić’s night: Barcelona center became the Top 2-point scorer in the competition history with 950 made shots. His team won 74 – 58 against Maccabi on the home court.

CSKA scored the victory against Olympiacos with a score of 69 – 65.

In the other games of the night Fenerbahce was better than Bayern, while Baskonia won 82 – 56 against Darussafaka. The Final score of the match in Istanbul was 88 – 84.

The Croatian player, Ante Tomić, scored 12 points against Maccabi and passed Mike Batiste on the most 2-point scoring list in the history of the EuroLeague. Besides him, two more players scored more than 10 points for Barcelona: Victor Claver (SF – PF) was the MVP with 14 and Kyle Kuric (SG – SF) scored 13. In Macabbi, Angelo Caloiaro (PF – SF) scored 11 and Johnny O’Bryant III (PF – C) added 12 points.

The Derby of the round was played in Moscow where the home squad was better than the team from Piraeus (Athens urban area) in the game with not that many points (the final score was 69 – 65).

Three players had double-digit points for CSKA: the best was Sergio Rodriguez (G) with 20 points, Will Clyburn (SF) ended the match with 17 and Cory Higgins (SG – SF) scored 11.

In Olympiacos, from ten players who were on the court during the game, six managed to score and three of them had more than 10 points. Vassilis Spanoulis (SG – PG) was the best. Popular “Kill Bill” scored 16 points, while his teammate Georgios Printezis (F) added two points less (14) and Nigel Williams-Goss (PG – SG), Guard who came from Partizan Belgrade, ended the game with 13.

The night in Turkey was very interesting. After the lost against Anadolu Efes (89 – 83) in the previous round of EuroLeague, Fenerbahce managed to get back on the winning track by beating Bayer (from Munich) with a score of 88 – 84.

Five players in the Želko Obradović’s squad had double-digit score, while one (Kostas Sloukas, Greek Point guardShooting guard) scored 8 points but added 10 assists. The best scorer in the Turkish team was Luigi Datome (SF – PF). The Italian player finished the match with 19 points. Jan Vesely (PF – C) added 16, Nikola Kalinić (SF – PF) scored 11, and two players ended the game with 10 points each one: Marko Gudurić (SF – SG) and Joffrey Lauvergne (PF – C).

Another home team (Baskonia) in this round won in front of their own crowd as this was the night of the hosts (all hosts won in the first night of the fifth round in the Euroleague). Baskonia was better than Darussafaka with 26 points difference (82 – 56).

Tornike Shengelia (PF), from the home squad, scored 13 points, while his teammate Darrun Hilliard (SG – SF) added 12. Vincent Poirier (PF – C) ended the match with 10 points. On the other side, in the Turkish team two players scored 12 points each one (Michael Eric -Center from Nigeria- and Oguz Savas, Turkish Center).
