In the last round of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 European Qualifiers, Serbia won 97 – 76 (+21) against Israel in a packed Pionir (also known as Aleksandar Nikolić Sports Hall). Aleksandar Đorđević’s squad, from the beginning, demonstrate their power against a direct opponent for the ticket to the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 in China . In a “to be or not to be” game, the home team won in all four quarters (26 – 18, 23 – 15, 18 – 17 and 30 – 26). For the hosts, on the court were all the twelve players the head coach Đorđević selected to play against Israel (Miloš Teodosić, Marko Simonović, Stevan Jelovac, Milenko Tepić, Dragan Milosavljević, Miroslav Raduljica, Stefan Birčević, Vladimir Lučić, Nikola Milutinov, Ilija Đoković, Aleksa Avramović and Đorđe Gagić) and all, except Gagić, managed to score. The last 3 ones, Đoković, Avramović and Gagić, only played

@FIBAWC: Milutinov and Lučić with Serbia, Micić questionable (Israel in Belgrade)

The Serbian national team will face Israel in the most important match of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 European Qualifiers (for both teams) in the Aleksandar Nikolić Sports Hall. After the surprising loss against Estonia, in Tallinn, with a score of 71 – 70, Aleksandar Đorđević’s squad is facing with the possibility of not to be in China this September. A «Minimal defeat» (even by 21 points, as you can check through this link) can also take the Serbian team to China, but then they will depend on the other match, so it is better to say that in order to play the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019, the home team needs to win against Israel. In the game, in Pionir, Nikola Milutinov and Vladimir Lučić will play and help the team in order to fulfil the goal, and also Vasilije Micić is in Belgrade too, but his participation

@FIBAWC: Estonia surprised Serbia, “winner takes it all” against Israel in Belgrade

The Serbian basketball squad didn’t use their chance in Tallinn to qualify for the World Cup in China because they lost against Estonia with a score of 71 – 70. The Match against Israel on Sunday from 16:00 h. in Belgrade will be crucial for Aleksandar Đorđević’s squad. In Tallinn, the Serbian team was leading during three quarters and at the first minute of the last quarter the score was 49 – 57 (+8) for the guests. But then, the home team woke up and got closer. Đorđević’s squad helped the hosts with a lousy defense and postponed the decision about the last participant of the World Cup 2019 from the Group L (Greece and Germany already qualified). The Estonian squad scored four (from a total of 9) three pointers in the last quarter. That was the punishment for the guests because they didn’t used the given chance to lead

In the last FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 European Qualifiers window, Serbia will face Estonia in Tallinn and Israel in Belgrade. The Serbian squad needs only one win (or, maybe, noone) in order to become one of the participants in the World Cup 2019 that will take place in China, and the first match point will be against Estonia. Aleksandar Đorđević decided which 12 players will play in the first game and one of them is Miloš Teodosić, who recently (on February 7, 2019, just 14 days ago) was waived by the Clippers. Besides Miloš, the other 11 players who will play in Estonia are: Ilija Đoković (Borac Čačak), Milenko Tepić (PAOK), Dragan Milosavljević (Málaga), Aleksa Avramović (Varese), Ivan Paunić (free agent), Marko Simonović (Zenit), Stefan Birčević (Bonn), Stevan Jelovac (Bamberg), Miroslav Raduljica (Jiangsu Dragons), Nikola Jovanović (Trento) and Đorđe Gagić (Partizan). Maybe Nikola Milutinov and Vasilije Micić will help
