@FIBAWC: Đorđević announced the list without trio from Munich (@FIBA)

The Serbian head coach, Aleksandar Đođrđević, announced the 16 players who will prepare for the next qualifying window for the FIBA World Cup 2019 in China. As it was predicted, there are no players from the EuroLeague. After the last qualifying window, during September, the players from Munich (Stefan Jović, Vladimir Lučić and Nemanja Dangubić) were hoping that their team will let them play against Israel on November 30th 2018. His team will play the day before against Maccabi in EuroLeague and they were hoping to stay with the Serbian squad in Tel Aviv for one more day. But Lučić, Dangubić and Jović are not on Đođević’s list. September Window: Đorđević unveils 16 players roster (@FIBA, Bjelica, Bogdanović)

The Head coach of the Serbian national team, Aleksandar Đorđević, announced the national selection that will compete in the September window of the European Qualifiers 2017-2019 games for the FIBA Basketball World Cup China 2019. Despite the fact that Boban Marjanović (Center, C), Miloš Teodosić (Point guard – Shooting guard, PG – SG) and Nikola Jokić (C) won’t play for the national team, the Serbian squad is ready for the new challenges. The First two mentioned players won’t play due the decision of their club, Los Angeles Clippers, and Jokić decided not to play due to unknown reasons. The Serbian national team will include, among others, Sacramento Kings Nemanja Bjelica (Power forward – Small forward, PF – SF) and Bogdan Bogdanović (SG), while plenty EuroLeague players had made the cut. Serbia played it’s second WC qualification game in Belgrade, 2 days ago, on November 27th. Georgia and Tskitizhvili opened the gane with 2 points shot and closed the first quarter with the lead. Serbian player Ilija Djokovic made three points shot little less than 1 minute before the end of the quarter for the even 21. In the second quarter Serbia were leading till four minutes before the end, when Georgia first got really lost on the court and then took the lead, all thanks to Dixon’s three in a row three points shots. Also, at the end of the quarter Dixon made two points for a final result of 44 – 45 for Georgia. Serbia scored their second win in World Cup Qualification Tournament after beating Georgia 105 – 87 at home court. Not long ago, Serbian national team won silver medal at EuroBasket 2017, and now the team has to be ready for new challenge, World Cup qualification tournament. In order to accomplish the goal, and that is booking ticket for China, to participate in World Cup 2019, Serbian head coach Aleksandar Đorđević announced preliminary squad. There is no surprise that in this list won’t be players who play in NBA league, Miloš Teodosić, Nikola Jokić, Boban Marjanović, Nemanja Bjelica and Bogdan Bogdanović, but in their absence, coach called some young guys and also players from EuroLeague who played on previous tournament held in Turkey.
