@EuroCup Top 16: Impossible is nothing in Pionir, @PartizanBC vs Berlin (78 – 66)

0

In an excellent atmosphere in the “Aleksandar Nikolić” Sports Hall (also known as Pionir) Partizan won 78 – 66 (+12) against Berlin in the second round of the EuroCup Top 16. This is the first win for Trinchieri’s squad and the first loss for the German team in the Top 16, because the Serbian team lost 80 – 74 (-6) in the first round against Rytas Vilnius and Berlin was better than Monaco 83 – 74 (+9). After two rounds the situation in the group E is difficult because all the teams have one victory and one defeat (in the other game of the group, Monaco won against Rytas 75 – 70). In Belgrade (White City), the key factor of the victory was the strong and team play. One who was helping his teammates was the American-born naturalized Bosnian-Herzegovinian Point guard – Shooting guard Alex Renfroe who was the MVP

@EuroCup Top 16: Berlin without Peyton Siva in Belgrade (@PartizanBC, Pionir)

In the EuroCup Top 16 second round, Partizan is hosting Berlin in the Group E, in the “Aleksandar Nikolić” Sports Hall (also known as Pionir). The German squad came to Belgrade (White City) without their top performer, Peyton Siva, who is still recovering. He was injured in the end of October last year when his team played against Ludwigsburg in the German BBL. The American point guard had to deal with a fractured rib, he recovered, return and, now, is out again. In the first round the home team lost its away game against Rytas Vilnius (80 – 74 was the final score), while Berlin won 83 – 74 against AS Monaco. An Interesting fact is that Partizan last season played both against Rytas and the team from Germany in the EuroCup and lost in all games against both teams. Now will have the chance for the revenge against the

The Black and Whites (Crno-Beli) won 87 – 72 against Turk Telekom in the last round (10th) of the regular season in the EuroCup and advanced to the Top 16. The “Aleksandar Nikolić” Sports Hall was full till the last seat even though the match was played on Saints Nickolas Day, one of the biggest “slava” (Family Saint’s Day) in Serbia. Two weeks ago, the next phase of the EuroCup was far away for Partizan, but after two important wins (the first one against ASVEL in France and in the last round against the direct opponent Turk Telekom), the Serbian squad is going to the Top 16 from the third place in the Group C. The Opponents of Andrea Trinchieri’s squad will be Monaco (La Roca Team, Les Rouges et Blancs, The Red and Whites, the 1st team from the Group A), Berlin (Berlin Albatrosse, the 2nd from the Group

@PartizanBC hosting Berlin in the Round 6 of @EuroCup

In “Aleksandar Nikolić” Hall Partizan NIS will host today, Tuesday, German team Berlin in the 6th round of EuroCup. This will be the second duel between these two teams and in the first one, played in Berlin, Berlin won 111 – 85, mostly thanks to Spencer Butterfield’s 24 points. But now, it is another game because it will be played in Belgrade in front of black and whites fans and Partizan is eager to try to score second win in EuroCup and stop Berlin’s winning streak. In this match, focus will be on the three best players from Berlin and the three best home team players. For Berlin, main guy is Peyton Siva with huge help from Butterfield and Luke Sikma, while trio from Partizan, Nigel Williams-Goss, Patrick Miller and Vanja Marinković, will try (with the guys from their team) to defend their territory. It is well-known that Miroslav Nikolić’s

Serbian preliminary squad for the first games of World Cup qualification tournament

0

Not long ago, Serbian national team won silver medal at EuroBasket 2017, and now the team has to be ready for new challenge, World Cup qualification tournament. In order to accomplish the goal, and that is booking ticket for China, to participate in World Cup 2019, Serbian head coach Aleksandar Đorđević announced preliminary squad. There is no surprise that in this list won’t be players who play in NBA league, Miloš Teodosić, Nikola Jokić, Boban Marjanović, Nemanja Bjelica and Bogdan Bogdanović, but in their absence, coach called some young guys and also players from EuroLeague who played on previous tournament held in Turkey. There are 35 guys Đorđević is counting on, and he put that many names on the list because clubs may not allow those who play EuroLeague to help Serbian national team because World Cup qualification tournament rounds are playing in the middle of the season. @EuroCup: Partizan without any chance in Berlin

Partizan NIS lost 111 – 85 against Alba in Berlin, Germany, in the first round of the EuroCup 2017 – 2018 season. In the first quarter black and whites had advantage 3 – 4, and that was the last time they had any advantage. Team didn’t play defense at all and in attack they were without any chance and without any solution. German team played their game all the time, they were scoring from every position and at halftime they scored 57 points. In the end, the difference almost had been 30 points. The best scorer in Partizan BC was Nigel Williams-Goss with 22 points while 15 added both Vanja Marinković and Patrick Miller. In Alba, Spencer Butterfield finished the game with 24, Luke Sikma with 19 and Serbian basketball player Stefan Peno with 15 points. At the beginning Williams-Goss scored two baskets and it seems that Partizan will play
